Anne Griffith (2003-2004) BSc. – Toronto

Anne in Emuhaya
Anne conducts interviews in Emuhaya (2004)

Anne studied how farmers in western Kenya managed soil fertility in home gardens of indigenous vegetables.  She found that both farmers and scientists had difficulty conducting and analysing their experiments with vegetables, but that improving soil fertility with organic and inorganic inputs could indeed have potential benefits for household food security and incomes.

(Anne’s internship constituted her work placement within the UofT-Scarborough Campus’ Co-op programme in International Development Studies (IDS).)
